COVID-19 UPDATE
After careful thought and consideration from our medical team, the City of Richfield, race staff, and the recent recommendations made by the CDC, we have decided to make this year's 2020 Urban Wildland Half Marathon and 5K Races virtual. The health and safety of our participants, volunteers, staff, and community is our top priority. This decision was not made lightly as we know many will be disappointed with this decision as they have put hours and sweat into training and many travel from outside of Richfield, MN. We hope you will still choose to lace up those shoes, keep six feet apart, and race in good health for a great cause!

Though these are unprecedented times in our world and community, we still believe kids need nature more than ever! Please consider running with us virtually and supporting Wood Lake Nature Center and their mission to make nature accessible to the students of Richfield Public Schools and the community beyond. Please follow the steps outlined below to register, and if you already are, you are good to go! We appreciate your support and look forward to this year's virtual race!

 WHAT IS A VIRTUAL RACE?
A virtual race is a race that can be run (or walked) from any location, anytime, and anywhere! You choose the distance, when to run, and your route. You can even start your race from your own front door or on a treadmill from inside your home! You get to run at your own pace, at your own pace, by yourself or with a furry friend, all while timing it yourself. All we ask is that you practice social distance, don't run if you are feeling ill, and to submit your time using the honor system.

WHAT YOU NEED TO DO
If you have registered for the 5K or half marathon, you will automatically be entered into the virtual race distance for which you registered. No further action is required on your part to enter the virtual races. If you have not previously registered for our virtual races, you can do so now by picking the race distance of your choice and registering by August 1!

DEADLINE TO SUBMIT YOUR VIRTUAL RESULTS
All times must be submitted on the race website page between July 25 and August 1 for runners to receive their finisher medals and race shirts.

WHAT YOU WILL GET
All runners who complete their event and submit their time between July 25-August 1 will receive a branded wood finisher medal, a short-sleeved running shirt, available in unisex and women's cuts. Shirts and medals will be available for pickup after the race (an option will be sent out later to have it mailed, for the cost of postage). A custom keepsake E-bib and E-finisher certificate are available for runners to print (not necessary) on the MTEC Results page. You also get the satisfaction for finishing your race all while supporting a great cause as 100% of the profits benefit Wood Lake Nature Center, so your running makes a real difference!

THANK YOU FOR SUPPORTING WOOD LAKE NATURE CENTER
100% of the profits from this event benefit the 49-year environmental-education partnership between Wood Lake Nature Center and Richfield Public Schools, a program put in jeopardy in the wake of state budget cuts in 2003. The participants of this event have kept the program funded ever since. When you register, there is also an option for an additional donation...we greatly appreciate it!

WE WANT TO CELEBRATE WITH YOU!
We want to celebrate your achievements with you! Please share with us your virtual race experience by posting a photo of yourself running or walking one of the Urban Wildland Virtual Races and post on social media with the hashtag: #UrbanWildland

REFUND POLICY
Unfortunately, we cannot offer a refund for this event as we have spent a year in preparation for this race and have to immediately spend the money to purchase the medals, shirts, and additional race expenses. So, all sales are final. Please consider your registration as a donation!
